The Standard Group comprises The Standard Newspapers, Nairobian, KTN, KTN News, Radio Maisha, Standard Digital and Think Outdoor Services. The Group is looking for highly motivated, qualified, experienced and reputable team players to fill the following positions:
Supplements Sub Editor Job Purpose
- The Sub Editor
will ensure the Style, Layout, Final Copy, Creativity and eventual
production of Supplements and other special and commissioned reports, not
only match in-house style and layout,
but also surpass client expectations. - The job holder
will be responsible for subbing copy to fit allocated space without
distorting facts and consistent with commercial and client needs. He/she
will be required to advise and give guidance to
clients and the commercial teams on content generation and quality.
Supplements Sub Editor Job Responsibilities
- To re-write the copy as necessary for simplicity, clarity, accuracy and as per client needs.
- To edit pictures selected to go with particular content.
- Offer editorial advice to clients whenever necessary.
- Work closely with the design, commercial, editorial and production sections to ensure deadlines are met as required.
Qualifications For Supplements Sub Editor Jobs
- University degree with a bias in English, Mass Communication or Business.
- Postgraduate diploma Journalism
- Minimum of three years’ experience.
- Well-developed analytical skills and an understanding of the local and global business environment
- Ability to make quick decisions
- Energy and ability to work irregular hours
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills at all levels
- Have a clear understanding of newspaper production processes
